Supernatural Revelation

Every time there is a big disaster, there is a lot of commentary in the Christian community about prophecy. We had this happen after Hurricane Katrina when Kim Clement posted on his website about a prophecy he gave a few months before New Orleans was devastated. Here is a quick excerpt:

O New Orleans God speaks to you from Houston tonight and says enough of this! For a judgment is coming says the Spirit of the Lord, and I will take the men that have stood in faith, raise them above the flood that shall destroy those that constantly bicker and stand against my servant Moses, or my servant Bilbo. I want you to understand there are great men in New Orleans that have faith but you have been set aside not to lose but to win. Enough of this! For I will take the curses and the bodies will even rise and they will come forth on the water, but I will keep you and the stench of death will only last a few days. And then what I promised two years ago will come to pass for August, September and October of this year I made a promise it would happen, and God said be strengthened now, be strengthened now for enough is enough says the Lord.

Here is the link if you want to go read the prophecy and then listen to the mp3. While I was pondering on the discussion about this, I recieved a letter from frequent Dippu.com reader, Robert Burns. Read the letter for yourself:

Come on Dippu readers.. you folks are the best at things like this. What do you suggest?

Hello...

...Have you ever done a forum on visions, insight, dreams, etc? It may prove to be very interesting. Just a quick update as to why I ask. A few days ago I said a couple things to some people. People have been mentioning my different mood etc. I replied with, "I usually am this way when there is going to be something major that happens. I said it is usually earthquakes or death etc." I said there is going to probably be an earthquake, knowing full well that is what was probably going to happen. My stress was high and my head was so tight and felt like it was cracking it hurt so bad especially on Saturday. I did not hear of the quake in Pakistan until I arrived home that evening. I have now been granted the knowledge of the major quakes before they happened over the last year. I even argued with God on the Iran quake the day before it happened saying, "No way! There can't be an earthquake etc." The next day there was. I called my friend in New York just before emailing this to you. She suggested I contact a geological organization, who knows what may follow. Perhaps God has been preparing with baby steps, although these events like the tsunami, quakes, etc have not been minor. Perhaps God can use me as tool for education. Please offer advice, give me direction or what ever the Lord leads you to do. You have the gift of reaching so many people.

Sincerely,

Blaine

I have noticed that this has become a trend over the past year. Of course it was of and on throughout the years. I have grown to understand and also how to work with this gift that the Lord has granted. There is much more I shall offer in the very near future.
God Bless!

We are in the here and now, aren't you excited!
Robert,

What do you think of Kim Clement's prophecy. If he is correct, we are wayy overdue for a earthquake here in the Northwest.

Brother Blaine,

I praise God that he has given you the spirit of revelation. It is powerful tool in this modern generation, a generation that needs Godly revelation and guidance. Visions can be from God, but they can also be not of God.
Let me portray it this way, if you will. Remember that when Moses was in Egypt and he cast down his rod and it became a snake. Well the Egyptian magicians did the same exact thing, but Moses’ snake swallowed their snakes. Hope you see where I am coming from.
There is a difference between premonition and a Godly revelation. Certain animals get premonitions about natural disasters. We need to be sure that our visions are something of God and glorifying God, and by no means am I saying Brother Blaine that yours is not of God.
We live in a world of falsehood and craftiness; I've heard people say that such was the case of the Shibu Mathai incident. The prophet Kimberly had a premonition, not a revelation. Does that make her a false prophet, no, just over reactive to what her emotions say instead of what God says.
I am starting to get the feeling I am preaching again, but let me close with this last story. When I was young, I had an aunt who was stricken with cancer and in the final stages. On the night she died, her mother, (my grandmother), was up all night. She just could not sleep. My grandmother had no idea that her daughter was near death, but inside she felt very upset and in fact she told us that she was weeping and praying because her daughters face was coming before her. Now my grandmother was a very prayerful woman, but I do not think that to be a Godly revelation, just a very true premonition. Did God have a hand in it, very likely, but I really cannot come to a conclusion about it.
What do you all think?

Brother Blaine, I hope my words are bringing encouragement, forgive me dearly if they are not. God speaks through visions back in the Bible, and He can still do it today, He never changes. I would caution against contacting a geological organization, simply because they will use and abuse you. They will start to test God according to science; you will be the innocent one caught in the middle. But I am not going to tell you the way, God will. You are clearly a man of prayer and an honorable servant of the Lord. I urge you to fast at least one week (or more) about this; God will hold nothing back from His servants.
With prayer

people who are guided by the wrong spirit come not only as prophets, but also as pastors and teachers and evangelists

pastor thomas, ...please don't get me started. Who are you to question the prophecy made by prophet Kimberly? Has God made some kind of amazing revelation to you about this situation? If not, i think it's better for you to keep your opinions at home

Isaac, son, first you need to calm down a bit. I admire the zeal and passion you have for this. But take a second and think.
I do not want to revive a dead topic, but to begin with I did not call out Kimberly as a false prophet. Secondly, you are right pastors, missionaries, great Bible pundits and prophets all are prone to mistakes. I have made many mistakes in the course of my pastoral tenure. But don't think just because she is a prophet she cannot be wrong in prophecy. No matter how anointed or prayerful you are mistakes will happen. Another matter is whether I questioned the prophecy. Isaac if this were a true revelation from God, what she said would have happened, no doubt about it. God's promises and words never change or fail. If you continue to defend her, you are essentially saying that God made the mistake in what He said. Let's not even go there.

Sorry to the Dippu team and to Brother Blaine. I brought up this topic to draw a comparison, I see it still burns in a few hearts, and see Isaac, I made a mistake as any normal human would. Folks let's look back at what Brother Burns said, lets us focus our prayer for him , that God may use him as a powerful vessel.
"Cleanse me O Lord from presumptuous sin, let them not have dominion over me"

Dippu admin, ..i'm sorry, ..i didn't start this, but i'm not going to just sit back when an individual speaks out against an utterance by a prophet which i know was speaking from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Thomas, you are treading on dangerous ground.
10.12.2005 | Unregistered Commenterisaac
Sorry Isaac,
The Lord is not leading me that way. The Holy Spirit is the Sprirt of Truth. There is no "if" in the Holy Spirits' words. If the Holy Spirit says so-and-so will raise up from the dead, then it will happen 100%. How do you know she was speaking from inspiration of the Holy Spirit? God knows my heart, I do not blaspheme His Name. Isaac answer this, did the prophetess say he would raise up? If not, we are wasting our time. If so, you said it was the Holy Spirirt in her, correct? Can you accept that it was not God's will to raise him up? Our lives are in God's purpose, the Bible was written by men of God through inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is true and is full of promises. So if you say, the Holy Spirit worked through a person to say that he will not die but live and the person does not live, what kind of prophecy would you call that Isaac? Who is right the prophet or the Almighty?

pastor thomas said:

"God knows my heart, I do not blaspheme His Name."

I don't know you personally, ..but I don't doubt that you have only good intention towards the Lord and His cause. But sometimes we can unintentionally because of our ignorance or blindness to the work of the Spirit actually work against God. ...which is why I previously said that we shouldn't be so quick to cast judgement on people

pastor thomas says:

"How do you know she was speaking from inspiration of the Holy Spirit?"

-well, this goes back to the question of how can people believe in anything that is of God to begin with? Surely you didn't simply just believe in the ridiculous story which says that some man came to earth 2000 years ago, died, ..and all of a sudden magically got out of the grave and then flew into heaven after 40 days, did you? It is the Spirit that bears witness in us that allows us to accept the gospel as the truth and understand that which is of God and that which is not. Without the witness of the Spirit you can not honestly be able to believe in the account of the gospel. Without the witness of the Spirit you can not be able to even interpret the Scriptures properly.

Rom 8:16a The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit

Heb 10:15a Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

pastor thomas says:

"Can you accept that it was not God's will to raise him up? "

response:

Why should anyone accept this?, ..and why are you trying to propagate the idea that it is not God's will? Did God speak to you?

Finally, you are confusing what the prophet said with what the kids in Oklahoma was praying for. I believe both the prophet and the kids in Oklahoma were inspired by God. God bless these precious people.

pastor thomas says:

"Who is right the prophet or the Almighty? "

response:

when God moves, He reveals His secrets to His servants, the prophets

Forgive me Isaac if I was judgmental, but as Christians we should be a bit tighter on how we accept prophecy, not despising it, but making sure it stands with Scripture.
Good points Isaac, but we cannot brush aside the fact that what was said did not come to pass.
That is enough of that, once again I am deeply sorry for starting this fire. This post is meant for Brother Burns and his edification.
Your brother in the Lord

Once upon a time, there lived two men, ..they were good friends. The first man's name was Isaac, and the second man's name was Thomas.

Every day, around evening they would walk towards the sea and talk about different things. One day as they were doing this, they saw a great multitude of people by the sea surrounding this one man named Jesus. The people were enthralled by this man's presence. They were stunned by His message. The man Jesus, was standing on a boat preaching to the audience. When Isaac and Thomas saw this, they were amazed....they were attracted. Somehow, even though they did not know Him, at the same time He seemed so familiar. Isaac and Thomas did not forget this encounter and pondered who this Jesus was over the next coming days.

After a period of days, Jesus saw them from a distance at the marketplace and invited them to come to His house. They were excited.

When Jesus saw them from a distance He embraced them and invited them to come into His house. He washed their feet and anointed their heads and continued to talk to them about the truths of Scripture. They were taken aback by His love and humility. They wondered who this man was. They wondered about the rumors that this man was the Messiah sent from God to save the world.

In the progression of time, they were able to hear all of the messages that Jesus preached in public. Until one day, Jesus was ceased by the government and sentenced to death, as the religious and political leaders deemed Him to be a threat to their power.

They tortured this man that once dealt with them with such undescribable love. It was almost too much for Isaac and Thomas to bear. Jesus was crucified, died, ..and buried in a tomb.

Two days after the death of Jesus, ...Isaac and Thomas were sitting around a fire and talking, ..as it was very dark and cold that day. All of a sudden Isaac's eyes grew big and it was as if though an amazing thought came to him.

Thomas asked, "Isaac, what are you thinking about".

Isaac replied, "Thomas, ...don't you remember when Jesus was living, ..He talked something about how He would die, ...but yet rise again?"

Thomas responded, "Good point Isaac, but we cannot brush aside the fact that what was said did not come to pass."

Isaac just looked at the fire, ...and finally said "but friend, it has only been 2 days"

the end

p.s., ...i'm not going to bring this issue up again, if i can help it. But I think you all know where I stand and so there is no point in talking about this anymore, because we believe in different things. Let's stop it here.

back to the issue.
what do you think Robert Blaine Burns should do?

thanks, ...it took me about 5 minutes to make, ..if i correct the grammar, spelling and punctuation, then it would be fine.

what the lady told Robert to do is wrong

10.14.2005 | Unregistered Commenterisaac
I agree with that Isaac. Contacting any agency will lead to trouble. Let God give Brother Blaine advice not man. Just read His Word, and a passage will stand out and give you guidance and counsel, brother.

About your story above, a very poor example, never compare Jesus to a man. But as far as preaching the gospel, you did well.

isn't it interesting pastor thomas how the enemy is always setting up diversions and traps for those who love the Lord
