Home Sweet Home
Just a quick update; although we had a few bumps, the site upgrade is well on it's way. We will be moving away from Squarespace in the very near future. Keep praying and think about supporting us in other ways as well. I just got back from a trip to New York where I was able to meet with the chief editor of Beacon- Leema Thomas and Zimblymallu who was kind enough to come all the way from New Jersey for my niece's dedication. If there are any Dippu.com readers out there, be sure to email us with contact info and we can arrange for a small meet up when the time comes. Right after Zimbly left, I realized that I hadn't gotten a picture with him. Oh well, we'll always find time, I suppose. We had a great time of worship at Bethel International Church in Elmont, NY. The people there are sincere and very welcoming, God bless them. Also, I learned something new about our very own Zimblymallu- he is the treasurer for PYFA New Jersey. Woah! We have a celebrity in our midst! Please keep praying for our site move:
Pray that-
All financial needs are handled.
Everything is done perfectly for the Glory of God.
And for renewed vision for this year.
Scroll down for some posts that we've done in the past few days, I think you'll appreciate what we have up. And we in turn appreciate the readers who still come by and check on us once in a while. I think our site's biggest advertiser is my dad who happens to tell everyone he knows about dippu.com. Thanks Pops!
Peace

all the jesusfreaks who also own an iShuffle can now represent, while listening to their favorite christian music.
while gizmodo, boing boing and lockergnome all got the scoop from moco loco, i heard it from jake.he never tells me about his sources. i never ask. the internet is full of shady places and dangerous characters. some things you dont want to know.
moco loco did get me the scoop on Scott Wilson, the designer.
unfortunately, this is another one of those obscenely mallu pente centric paragraphs that seem to come out of my hindbrain every now and then. which is why this post has also been tagged with more than one category. you know how we have this whole prohibition act on jewellery. or as some people would say. "back in the day we would never wear jewellery, but now everybody is compromising with the world"
would wearing an iBelieve constitute jewellery wearing? i don't have one, otherwise i could tell you what happened when i went to church wearing it. yeah, i go to an old school church. but not old school enough for a thambar.
at the moment, an iShuffle undoubtedly makes you look cooler, but will the iBelieve do it? when form meets function, where does it leave the appachen pastor with his "you shalt not have hair bands on your wrists because it is a bracelet and an abomination to the Lord. and to me, and your parents and the church."?
moreover, if you notice, the point of the designer is to use a cultural icon to focus attention on the brand. what could be more subversive than to change it into an expression of your faith? the idea is so elegant, i wonder if it is an intellectual fairy tale.

deeper walk...youth retreat
We here at Dippu, would like to announce a youth retreat geared toward high school and college age youth. Deeper Walk will bring together youth of the Northwest, for a weekend of worship, teaching, and fellowship. It's going to be held in Vancouver, BC on November 11, 12, and 13. It's a WPC youth event in association with SAC.
What do we plan to do here? This is a brand new event that's starting this year. It's a time of refreshing and equipping for youth. Benita Joy is the organiser for this whole event, and if you would like more information regarding this, please contact her through her website. We'll post more about this here as we get more news, but just wanted to give you all a heads up to start planning for attending this.
thanks,
dippuTeam

Only if you really wanted to, of course. Ashish has started writing on his personal blog again so I encourage all of you to go visit it sometime soon. I have also started blogging again on my old abode, Daycruise.net. Both of us missed the personal freedoms we had on our own blogs. When one runs a combined blog, it's not the same. Not saying we don't enjoy it, we just want to do more freestyle blogging as they call it. Dippu.com will continue to bring you news, opinions, and just about anything relating to you the reader. That's a pretty darn subjective statement isn't it? I know a lot of people have been visiting us the last two weeks. I hope you look around the site, like what you see, and come back more often.
"Can I Live?"
I'm not much of a rap fan. I used to listen to it a lot back in the
day, but now I'm all about anything but rap. But I just saw this video
by Nick Cannon, which appears to be just what the rap scene needs. It
is Nick Cannon's story-- of his mother's choice to run out of the
abortion clinic. She was there to abort him. He thanks her for keeping
him.. It is a stirring song-- and I hope you enjoy it too. We need to
support more songs like this.

Take A Look

Take a look at that picture. It's the picture of the winning team at WPC '03 basketball tournament. Guess which city they're from? If you guessed Seattle, you are wrong. If you guessed Vancouver B.C, you are wrong. If you guessed Edmonton, you are wrong. It's Portland. Continuing it's dominance on the West Coast. Now, if you want the opportunity to beat down these cocky fools you'll get it this year at the WPC Portland Conference. Yes, it's official, we have a basketball tournament right after the talent show. Get the word out folks-- Portland is calling you out. I heard some San Jose people wanted to challenge P-town, we'll just see how that goes.
If you aren't a basketball fan, be sure to still attend WPC 2k5- www.wpcportland.com
Western Pentecostal Conference '05
I'm not sure if you live on the West Coast or not but this should
interest you. The Western Pentecostal Conference will be held in
Portland, Oregon on July 7th through the 10th. If you are tired to the
East Coast conferences, this should be a huge relief. This is truly a
time to commune with God and meet in fellowship with fellow believers.
The conference has evolved from a meeting in a house more than a decade
and a half ago to a growing community of Christian believers on the
west coast of North America. In addition to a great all around
conference, we have also planned a talent show. If you are younger than
thirty, you are welcome to sign up to perform for the show.
Visit the WPC Portland website here.
Be sure to check back at dippu.com for updates.
If you are interested in performing at the talent show, Email me at decruzp@gmail.com.
We are still alive...
Here are some sweet pics....(they're not big enough to download but they're funny)

DayCruz's first autograph session
Due to my new found fame, many people have been clamoring to see a
glimpse of me. They want to know who the real DayCruz is. But you know,
the funny thing is- someone asked me what the best way to get hits on
your website is. They assumed that I would know since dippu.com is so
dang popular now. Apparently, the answer to that question is one word:
Aishwarya. Since my two Aishwarya posts this past weeks our hits have
been consistently high. A look at the refferals shows us that many
people came to this site through searching for "Aishwarya + Oprah" on
Google. So the key? Put up more pictures of Aishwarya Rai. And try to
write Aishwarya's name as much as possible.
...
Aishwarya Rai.
Perhaps we'll turn into an all Aishwarya Rai website. What do you think?
This is how debates usually end up..
Bobby and I in the beginning- pretty calm and collected. Interested in each other's opinions....
And this is how the debate ended- pretty sad actually....

So kids, what did DeCruz learn today? Bobby doesn't like it when people make fun of his kundi!

Gettin' Jumpy About Pope Ratzi-
I commented last night on a discussion about the new Pope of the Roman Catholic church. You know, being a Protestant,
I could care less who the Catholics pick as their leader, although I
have tremendous respect for this man. He seems to have clear
convictions and he stand by them. Well, at Sepia Mutiny,
the folks there seem to have a very different opinion. A lot of the
visitors there are quite angry about the new pope's comments on other
religions. To read them, go directly to the post
at the Mutiny. I don't understand why it should offend you so
much when someone else believes your religion is wrong. It doesn't make
any sense to me. Some are resorting to calling him a Nazi, which is
just simply foolish. The man was involved in Hitler Youth when joining
was compulsory. His father was very anti-Nazi. So that kind of talk
isn't really helping the debate. In my opinion, the guy seems pretty
reasonable- even if he looks a bit like Hannibal Lector (or Anthony Hopkins, take your pick).
Does this man remind you of someone?
"Helllooooo Clariceeee.."

a few new details
Just wanted to let you all know that we have now created a photoBlog section, as well as a GuestBook. We thought about posting pics from people's blogs onto the photoBlog section, but we realise that's really old news. So we're asking you all to email in your pictures, with a small caption explaining it. Another thing is that we've created a GuestBook section. We would like all our readers to sign it, and tell us a little about yourself. This site is still evolving, so always be on the lookout for All Things New.
please read up on Syndicating your blog if you would like us to Syndicate your site on dippu.com (This means, showing snippets of your blog posts from your site on a html page. For example, daycruz's blog is syndicated on our site, while sarahi's isn't)
